Education
At Consolidated Youth Services (CYS), we offer a variety of educational programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our youth. Our goal is to provide each student with the support and opportunities they need to succeed academically and beyond. Here’s an overview of our education services:
Traditional and Alternative School Settings
Youth at CYS can attend public school in either a traditional setting or an alternative public school environment. This flexibility ensures that we can accommodate each student’s individual learning needs.
On-Campus Education Program
CYS employs a team of highly qualified teachers, all of whom meet education certification requirements, to deliver quality instruction. Our on-campus education program provides high school credits and is open to a broad range of students. Seniors in this program are given the opportunity to participate in local high school graduation ceremonies, celebrating their achievements with their peers.
For a specific population, CYS offers an on-campus education program funded and approved by the Arkansas Department of Education Special Education Unit. This specialized program is designed to support students with unique educational needs while integrating them into a comprehensive learning environment.
GED Program
For youth aged 16 or older who choose to pursue a GED rather than a traditional high school diploma, CYS offers an on-campus GED program. This alternative educational path is designed to help students achieve their academic goals with the support they need. Parents or custodians are actively involved in the education planning process to ensure that academic placement decisions are tailored to each student’s needs.
Vocational and Extra-Curricular Opportunities
In addition to academic instruction, we provide vocational classes that are part of the high school curriculum or post-secondary education. Students are also encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities, including band, football, basketball, and various clubs, to enhance their overall educational experience.

Youth in Focus: A BAM & CYS Collaboration
This summer, CYS partnered with the Bradbury Art Museum to bring free, hands-on art workshops to youth in crisis. The exhibition showcases powerful works created through collaboration, reflection, and self-expression—celebrating the courage, creativity, and resilience of every young artist.
